Cleaning, Renovating and Sealing Drives and Patios by PowerPro

One of the biggest investments you can make in the exterior of your home is a brand-new block-paved driveway or patio. When first laid, They create a real “wow” factor, completely transforming the appearance of your property.

However, as time passes, it is inevitable that, without regular maintenance, weeds, moss, lichens and algae begin to take hold, leaving the driveway looking tired and shabby. The clean kiln-dried sand between the joints is gradually replaced by mud and soil, creating the perfect conditions for weeds and moss to thrive.

PowerPro has a tried-and-tested cleaning and renovation process to restore the appearance of your driveway or patio:

Visit 1: If required we will apply a pre-treatment spray to control moss, weeds, algae and lichens in preparation for the cleaning process.

Visit 2: Carry out a deep pressure clean and removing the jointing sand to a minimum depth of 20mm on drives.  This helps to reduce future weed and moss regrowth.

Visit 3: Re-sand all joints using premium kiln-dried sand (block-paved driveways only).

Visit 4 (Optional): Apply a high-quality sealant. While optional, sealing is highly recommended as it provides long-term protection and helps keep your block paving looking its best with minimal ongoing maintenance.

PowerPro are your local approved agent for Smartseal sealants, which are widely regarded within the industry as among the highest-quality driveway and patio sealants available.

The benefits of sealing include:

  • Helping to inhibit weed and moss regrowth.
  • Protecting and enhancing the colour of the paving.
  • Improving resistance to stains.
  • Providing long-lasting protection for your valuable investment.

Lawn Care

I have to admit that this year has proved to be one of our most challenging. With no April showers, very little rainfall during May and extremely high temperatures in June, lawns have come under considerable stress, with many starting to lose their colour.

The lack of moisture in the soil has also affected seed germination, meaning we have had to carry out additional overseeding, at our own expense, on some previously treated lawns.

The ideal solution is irrigation. However, we understand this can be difficult on larger lawns, and the amount of water required can significantly increase household water bills at a time when many families are already facing rising costs.

If you are unable to water your lawn, don’t worry—grass is remarkably resilient. As soon as regular rainfall returns, so too will the colour and vigour of your lawn.
